Counting down to the opening
It's Tuesday and in four days we will be performing our work! It's pretty remarkable that we have been able to get this far! There's a lot going on in the background and I hope the performers are starting to get the bigger picture of our plan. Yesterday, Thomas and Imanuel (our stage manager) hauled a trailer full of furniture (couch, chairs, table, cupboards, hanging lamp etc. Of course it rained a bit and things got a little wet even though they were covered in plastic because after our evening rehearsal everything had to be hauled back to the pottery house for storage. I miss sleeping there but there's no wifi and I need that now for communicating with the performers and preparing our progrem, doing my blog, etc. So I scramble a bit this morning to move to a different hotel where I will stay for the next 5 nights. Speaking of rain, there have been big storms going through, dumping in Berlin and occasionally here.Yesterday there were also six new Stolpersteine laid in Schwedt and I was able to see again that the names of people murdered by the Nazi regime will be remembered. It has been five years since the small plaque for my aunt Maria Oppenheimer, was laid in the sidewalk where the apartment she was living in with her parents once stood. It was also 2018 when I first encountered Thomas Maucher (now Skupy), his beautiful movement style and creativity that led to this collaboration that has brought about crossings______moves.Rehearsals are interesting. I'm never sure who will be there even though I thought I had everyone's availability in my notes. Things change on a daily basis but it all seems to be working out in very interesting ways. I am really looking forward to the actual performance. Also, to seeing what the videographer we have hired will get recorded during rehearsals and the performances. My cousin from Sweden is coming for the performance and hopefully we will be able to zoom some of it for you. Email me at ferolyangell@gmail.com if you want to get the link.A sign of good wishes and hopes.
